The in vitro response of dispersed prolactinoma cells to dopamine and bromocriptine.
Both drugs suppressed prolactin secretion but, whereas prolactin secretion became maximal within fifteen minutes after withdrawal of dopamine, the effect of bromocriptine was longer lasting, with prolactin levels remaining suppressed for three hours following withdrawal.
